Beach to Bay Weekend!

Last weekend we headed down to Corpus so I could run the Beach to Bay Relay Marathon with a team made up of people from Cuero. We rolled into Corpus Friday night and had a team dinner at B&J's Pizza which is a place we used to frequent when we lived there. The race was a good reason to get out of town and especially to take Taryn to the beach for the first time. Our team was in the mixed division because we had 3 girls and 3 guys. We ended up placing 51 out of 307 in our division and 305 out of 1850 teams overall in a time of 3:55:11. We all had a good time and there is already talk of doing it again next year!

While we were in Corpus we got to visit with some of our old beach buddies who still live there, Adam and Danielle. We had a really good time getting to see them and we realized just how much we miss them! We were able to get together for a couple of meals and head out to the beach as well.

Most exciting for us was taking Taryn to the beach. Taryn was ready to go from the moment we parked the car. He loved the sand and the water. He managed to get rolled by a couple of waves and so he made the decision to stay out of the deep from then on. By the time we left we had one sandy boy! We will have to head back again this summer so we can get some more beach time for our little guy!
