Feedin' Some Cows!!!

A week ago friday Taryn and I were invited out to some NEW friends of ours ranch to play around. Liz & Mike have 2 kiddos, a little boy Blake who is 2 like Taryn and a daughter Rylynn who is 4 years old. Since Liz and Ry were off doing a girls weekend, Mike suggested we take the boys out for a day of fun! We headed out to their family's ranch for a day of fishing, feeding cows and cruising the ranch with our boys. Mike and I also took the boys around the ranch on 4-wheelers to look for deer antlers. While Taryn was scared at first he ended up loving it. We had a great time thanks for inviting us out Mike!

The highlight of the day for the boys was checking out all the cows (and 1 donkey) and getting to feed them. You should have seen the boys going back and forth with handfuls of food to give the cows. Taryn even decided to take a taste of the pellets we fed them with. I don't think they were very good!

We started out with a full bag of feed, but the boys made sure that the cows got every last bit of it!

Driving around the ranch the boys had a lot of fun "Monkeying" around in the back seat, especially Blake!


We gave fishing a go, but we never even got a single bite. Part of the reason might have been that the boys were more interested in throwing dirt and rocks into the water. If there were any fish they were far away from us!

Another reason we may not have caught any fish is because there is hardly any water left. There just hasn't been enough rain to keep the tanks full and most likely the fish have all died. Where Taryn is standing he would typically be completely underwater. Hopefully we will get rain soon and we can try our hand at fishing again!
