Taryn Reese was born Monday, February 5th at 8:28 pm
He weighed in at 7lbs 3ozs
He is 20 1/4 inches long

Well it is a little over a week since our little buddy was born and we are getting our schedule a little bit more in control. After 24 hours of labor and a couple of days in the hospital taking care of Niki and Taryn we spent our first night at home last Wednesday and of course we got zero sleep. Maybe it was the new environment who knows, but I think we were both wishing we had never checked out of the hospital! Sorry to keep you all waiting, but it has been a little crazy around here what with being up every 2-3 hours during the night and then watching the little guy in the morning so that Mom can catch some sleep.
We thought we had it all figured out until today... Our normal routine has been that Taryn eats every 3 hours or so, we change diapers and then he sleeps pretty hard afterward giving us time to do things around the house like eat lunch, clean up etc. Speaking of diapers what is the deal as soon as you change one here goes Taryn filling it up again. I mean it is almost like he is doing it on purpose or something...? Today Taryn decided he did not want to sleep from about 10am until 4:30 this afternoon and the only time he would sleep before that was on my chest early this morning. Not only did he not want to sleep he was fussy and crying on off through the whole day. While we love to hold the little guy we don't want him to only be able to sleep in our arms. Hopefully this is just one of those days that come along every once in a while and not a sample of things to come. Niki was finally able to get him down after he got some dinner in his tummy. Every day is something new around here!

Here is Niki shortly after our check-in! She looks great, but you should have seen her after 24 hours! To be honest we both looked pretty haggard only Niki had to deliver a baby and all I could do was give her support.

Here is our little buddy just after he was born. He cried, but for the most part was pretty quiet. I think he was wore out after 24 hours of labor too. A couple of pics of Taryn catching some serious Z's! Niki and I can't get enough watching our buddy sleep.

The three of us the day after delivery.
Niki and Taryn as we are checking out of the hospital! Mr. Taryn's first time in the car seat. Taryn is wearing a really cute outfit that says "Take me Home", but the car seat does not do it justice, sorry Grandmere we love the outfit.

Oh my goodness!!! He is so sweet! Congratulations Loren and Niki, we can't wait to meet Taryn. Hang in there, maybe you can find comfort in knowing that I am up with you all night. Give me a call at 3 am ;)
