4th of July pics... way past due!

We had planned on hanging in Cuero over the weekend of the 4th, but after we had been to the local carnival and come back home, we realized we really had nothing to do the entire weekend. We had already hung out with our friends the night before, so we decided to head home to the Woodlands. Seriously, we had packed and left home within 2 hours of making our decision to leave. The thought had not even crossed our mind to go out of town. We were able to see two sets of grandparents although we wish we could have seen them all. Taryn and I got to hang with the Robinson Crew and the Haley's for a few hours as well! We didn't get to see any fireworks since Taryn was already in bed, but we sure heard them.

We went out to eat and then looked at the ducks and nutrea in the pond nearby. Pop had to keep a close eye on Taryn.
Taryn was all about chasing the ducks and Pop really had to keep a grip on him or he would have ended up in the drink!

Foul river rat! All of you Woodlands people remember the Warf...? Well, it is still there and so are the Nutrea!
Taryn hanging with Nene and Gramere after his bath. He really had fun playing with them.

On Sunday we took Taryn to the new waterwall in the Woodlands, but he was tired and we couldn't really get him to enjoy it. There were plenty of other kids there who were having a blast. The only way we could get him to stay was by sitting in my lap almost the entire time. We both got soaked and I was able to get a few smiles from him. I had fun, but I guess we will have to try again later.
He played a little bit with the water, but we couldn't get him to get up and walk around.
