2 week Check-in
Hello to everybody out there! Everyone is doing well. It is hard to believe, but a little over 2 weeks has flown by since Taryn was born. We have our official 2-week visit with our pediatrician tomorrow so I will post more after we get back. Mom and baby are both excelling! Niki has lost all of her 30 lbs she gained during pregnancy in just the first 2 weeks! This was done without any exercise, breastfeeding really does burn those calories. The only real problem we are having is that Niki's episiotomy is not healing correctly and it looks as though she may have to have surgery in a few weeks to repair everything. We have been trying to let the body heal itself, but it looks more and more like it is not going to happen, bummer for Niki... Our OB wants us to meet with a pelvic surgeon in Temple before we decide if/when to have surgery. In the meantime we have been busy at home with Taryn and he seems to have figured out his days from his nights! Knock on wood, but the only times he is up at night is to feed and then he goes right back to sleep. Way to go Taryn!!!
This is Taryn's first bath at home and if you can't tell he is not enjoying himself. Subsequent baths have not been any better. We hope as he gets older he will just relax and have a good time!
Taryn getting a little couch time with Daddy!
Taryn and Mommy getting a nap in before a late night feeding.
We just love to watch our little guy sleep and especially his yawning!
Taryn makes all kinds of hand gestures in his sleep. Here he just wanted to say hello to everybody!
Our first family photo!
Our first time out to eat. We enjoyed some Mexican food with Uncle Matt and his girlfriend Laura. Thanks for coming to visit us you guys we really enjoyed your time here! So far so good on going out to eat. All three times we have ventured out Taryn has slept like a champ. We are both dreading the day when we are the parents with the kiddo who won't stop crying at a restaurant. For now we are very happy with our little buddy and his social graces!

OH MY GOSH, I cannot get over how cute he is. And, Niki, way to go on your weight loss. It only took me a year - not kidding!! Seriously, you 2 look like old pros at parenting. Miss you guys and hope to see you soon and to meet Taryn!
Hey - Keep us posted on Niki. I hope she is okay!! And, a little tip on the bath - Samuel hated his until I read to cover up his body except for the part you are washing. That seemed to help out a lot because he wasn't so cold. Good luck!
