Tummy Time!!!
Taryn has really grown into his playmat. At first he seemed overwhelmed with all the toys hanging, the music and lights going on, but now he is loving it! We can put him down and he will immediately grab for a toy or start kicking away to make everything move around! When he gets a hold of a toy he trys to put it right into his mouth and chew on it like crazy! He also loves to roll from side to side and play with different toys. He will almost roll all the way over to his tummy and then stop short and roll over to the other side! Taryn also used to hate being on his tummy, but times have changed and he is now strong enough to hold up that melon of his and look around at everything!
Things are going well around here except for Mister Taryn's nap time... Up until 2 weeks ago we used to be able to put him down for naps and he would fuss for a couple of minutes and then go right to sleep. He wouldn't sleep for more than an hour, but at least he would go down unassisted! Not happening anymore, I don't know what happened, but this last couple of weeks have not been fun at naptimes. We try to put him down and 98% of time we have to end up helping him get to sleep or just plain holding him for a nap! Sucks, because he had me so used to being able to get things done during his short, but sweet naps... Oh well maybe it is just a stage he is going through and he will revert back to his old ways... Somehow I don't think that will happen!
Niki and I headed to Cuero on Saturday for the day to look at houses and we think we are going to make an offer on one that we really like! It is a pretty cute little house on a corner lot with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, hardwoods in all the rooms except kitchen, den and bathrooms! The house is in very good shape, but needs a little bit of updating, nothing that would have to be done right away! There is also a one bed/one bath guest cottage in the backyard for Grandparents or anyone else! Gramere has already claimed decorating rights should we get the house! We are really excited about the prospect of owning our first home and hope that everything works out! Especially since it is a small town and there is really not a ton of choices as far as homes go.
Taryn got a hold of the little ducky and went in for the kill! He loves this duck because it makes squeaking noises!
He loves to roll from side to side and check out all of his surroundings!
Taryn doing some tummy time! We are so proud of our little guy and his tummy time! Niki still can't believe how high he can hold that head up! He will even reach way up high for the ladybug.
Two weekends ago we went up to Dallas for a short, but sweet trip for Mack & Bethany's baby shower. Baby Charley is well on her way and will be here in just of couple of months! Mack and Bethany will make fine parents, after all they have lots of practice with their two dogs! We stayed with Zack & Jo, so we really want to thank them for putting us up. Sorry again that Taryn had a tough time and was not his normal self, sometimes he and road trips don't get along! We really enjoyed our visit and wished we could have stayed longer and seen more friends.
Uncle Zack and Aunt Jo saying goodbye as we were about to head home! Jo wanted to keep Taryn, but I don't think Niki would have let her!
