Can you say petting Zoo?

A couple of weekends ago Gramere came to visit and we went to Western Days in Yorktown where they had a petting zoo amongst all the other Carnival fare and fun!!! This was Taryn's first up close interaction with anything other than a dog, so we decided to view them from outside the pen. Besides all the animals would chase you down because they thought you had food if you were in the pen. Taryn couldn't wait to get his hands on something!

I would say somebody is pretty excited about all the animals!

Taryn got to get up close and personal with a goat. I sure am glad this goat likes kids because Taryn was pulling that ear pretty hard. The goat just chilled and let Taryn do whatever he wanted!
At this point I thought Taryn might get a face full of goat tongue, but nothing happened.

The next day we made a little road trip to Victoria to upgrade Taryn's wardrobe. Niki and Gramere were of course excited about spending some money! We had not really bought much in the way of clothes for him so he was due.

Taryn and Mommy ready to shop. This was Taryn's first ever ride in a shopping cart (sitting up at least).

As you can probably tell, Taryn hit the mother load and shouldn't need anything new for a couple of years I would think! Remind me to buy stock in Old Navy and Target! Gramere had a great time putting together outfits from all that we had bought!

Taryn wearing an outfit Gramere bought him a long time ago, but we are just now wearing. It is a little cow suit with a tail to boot!

Updates for Taryn: He is almost 9 months old and by our scales 18 pounds and 28 inches tall! Our boy refuses to crawl and just rolls around until he gets to where he wants to be. He is great on his tummy, easily holding his head up, but just has not put it together that he could take off if he wanted. We try to encourage him with demonstrations, but to no avail. I am sure I will turn my head for one second and he will be off! He likes to sit-up and stand-up, but you have to be right behind him in case he should fall! Sooner or later he will put it all together!
